Самый популярный блоггер drugoi поместил ссылку на свой самый популярный пост - о приюте для собак. Поражает количество собак, искалеченных людьми - с пулями в теле, переломанными костями, отрубленными лапами... Написал "поражает" и понял, что неверно написал - не поражает.

Помню, когда я был мальчишкой, к нашему дому прибилась собачка. Ей кто-то выколол оба глаза. Она потом жила на нашем участке, кормилась, но вскоре ушла, возможно, просто сослепу заблудилась, выйдя за калитку. Вот кто-то взял и выколол маленькому другу человека глаза.

Сколько я слышал и видел сам историй про кошек и собак, изуродованных двуногими. И я задаюсь вопросом - такое количество садистов в высокодуховной России (где традиционно, как нам объясняют, не приемлют грязь в виде гомосеков, эротики, толерастов, либерастов) это уникальное явление или в других странах и обществах тоже нередко встречаются типы, которые непрочь отрубить собаке лапы лопатой или палкой кошке спину перебить?

Сразу скажу, что прожив довольно долго в Западной Европе, я не видел ничего подобного. Но ведь мир не сводится к Зап. Европе. А что на Востоке, на Кавказе, в разных Америках, в других уголках?

Korea: dogs were hanged before cooking because it allegedly made the meat more tender. (I heard that nowadays Koreans do not eat dogs, at least officially.)

China (or another Asian country): cats were boiled alive before consuming. "As of 2006 there were no laws in China governing acts of cruelty to animals" (wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cruelty_to_animals#In_theory_and_practice)

Bolivia: Recently a law was passed forbidding cruelty to animals on the part of the military. "Resolution 217 puts an end to military training exercises in which dogs were mercilessly stabbed to death as they screamed in pain." (blog.peta.org)

Generally, Western developed countries have stringent laws against violence towards animals, while third world countries have no such laws.
